Despite his incredible success as a designer, I haven’t always been fan of Alexander Wang. I say this because it was only recently, on the news that he will be exiting Balenciaga, that I found out he has been the designer of the brand for the past three years. I’ve always been inclined to collections featuring ruffles, floating, delicate, translucent fabrics and other elements that result in an obviously feminine look. So my falling in love with this last collection of his was a logical event.
What I enjoyed the most is that although it features various feminine elements, which I have detailed below, these are contrasted with Wang’s natural flair for sportswear resulting in a collection that is as poetic as it is pragmatic.
I hope you enjoy it!

From top left: a meshed hoodie is softened by delicate accessories & dewy makeup, a stained pair of baggy trousers are romanticized by pairing it with a flirty top, a simple cut coat connects with the rest of the collection through texturized flowers in the jacket & a silk fanny pack, three unexpected fabrics & cuts are combined in a single feminine look with embellished lace slippers, and finally, a revealing yet conservative dress in lace & silk seals my favorite looks from Wang’s final collection for Balenciaga.
